Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and password (stored securely through our authentication provider, Supabase). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
• Content you submit. Links to videos (Reels, Shorts, and similar short-form clips) that you paste in for analysis, any topic or angle instructions you type in, and messages you send to the in-app script-writing chat assistant.
• Saved media. A copy of the video and a thumbnail image from links you analyze, stored so it doesn't have to be re-downloaded each time you revisit a past result.
• Payment information. If you subscribe or buy credits, payment is processed directly by PayPal or Razorpay. We never receive or store your card or bank details — only confirmation that a payment succeeded, and billing details like your plan and renewal date.
• Device & usage information. A push-notification device token (only if you enable notifications), your IP address (used to set regional pricing and to prevent abuse of free features), and basic technical details your device sends automatically, such as app version and OS.
• Waitlist signups. If you join our early-access waitlist before launch, we collect the email address you provide.

2. How we use it

• To provide ScriptLab's core features — analyzing videos and generating or remixing scripts.
• To maintain your account, credit balance, and subscription status.
• To send transactional emails — verification codes, password resets, purchase receipts, and a one-time notice if you joined our waitlist.
• To send push notifications, only if you've granted permission.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our terms.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the reliability of the app.

3. Third-party services

ScriptLab relies on the following providers to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Google Cloud / Gemini — the AI processing that powers script generation.
• Google Cloud Storage — stores saved videos and thumbnails.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications.
• Google Sign-In — an optional sign-in method.
• PayPal & Razorpay — payment processing.
• Google AdMob — displays ads to free-tier users.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account stays active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep certain records (for example, payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

5. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us using the details below. If you'd like your account deleted entirely, we'll remove your data accordingly.

6. Children's privacy

ScriptLab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
